Inspired by the beauty of the world we live in, we are travellers and dreamers, just like many of our readers.  In addition to travelling, we also take delight in blogging and communicating with our readers through storytelling.

Although the mere thought of sharing your story on the internet can be daunting, it’s an amazing experience itself and whether you wanna write about your fondest travel memories or open up about a compelling tale of triumph, the process can be both healing and liberating at the same time.

We love waking up in the morning and thinking about a specific blog post we want to craft.

Sometimes it’s a painless process; motivated and inspired by the latest article or a travel-themed book we’ve just finished reading, the words flow unstrained, and other times blogging is challenging, and we experience a creative slowdown.

Ever since we started travelling and blogging, we began to compile ideas for different travel blog posts. I have always wanted to transfer them from my travel journals (yes, I’m an old-school traveller who still carries around multiple notebooks and pens wherever I go)  to a digital form to have them all in one place. Given curfew conditions and additional free time, I’m accepting the challenge to willingly comb through my scribblings.

    1. I know, Allan, same here. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but I hope that at some stage well be able to go back to travelling. My last holiday was in July when we went to Latvia to get married, so it wasn’t a relaxing time with lots of sightseeing, there was hardly any at all. I used to write blog posts while Ericeira was at preschool, but now with all of us living in lockdown and isolated at home, it’s more challenging to do that. Thankfully, with the pandemic going on at the moment, I have plenty of time not just to think up new post ideas, but also to execute them. I dropped my external hard drive (my heart nearly stopped beating at that moment!) a while ago and can’t do anything to recover photos from our previous trips as all the repair shops are closed due to the pandemic. Ericeira started preschool last September, and we had an excellent balances schedule that allowed plenty of family and personal time. Now living in lockdown, we are still trying to wrap our heads around it and some days are all over the place.

      I find it challenging to coexist with the virus too. Not being able to see, hug and kiss our friends and family is real torture. Looking after my and my families mental health and dealing with a wide variety of emotions on a daily basis is a tricky task. And so is trying to explain to four-year-old toddler over and over again why she’s not allowed to see her friends. That’s why I don’t mind doing my part and staying at home to flatten the curve.

This will end, things will become normal again, one way or another, although the world will be a little different for a while things will go back to normal. I remember learning in chemistry that all systems seek homeostasis… take good care and stay safe, it’s difficult but a worthy sacrifice.     1. Thank you kindly! Keeping busy and brainstorming ideas together is a great way to spend some of the spare time. While I have lots and lots of different ideas, how to find the time to write is my new and unexpected challenge. I used to write and read while Ericeira was in preschool, but now with her being at home, sitting down and crafting posts is non-existent.

      One of the best tips comes from Toni Morrison is “Write at the edges of the day.” which means getting up before everyone else does, let’s say around 5 am. Of course, I could write after everyone’s gone to bed, but I’m not a night owl, and I love my sleep too! So, I’m still trying to come up with a decent enough schedule.

  23. I like that you organized these travel questions by category. I might add another one more category. According the philosophy of my blog, you don’t have to travel far or maybe even at all to enjoy the spirit travel. I’m going to pursue that angle more in the future.

    1. I agree with you! Wanderlust doesn’t necessarily have to include a lot of wandering. There are, of course, a lot of good reasons to take an international holiday: hiking in Patagonia, drinking coffee in Paris, or visiting orangutans in Borneo all make for an exciting itinerary. But flights are growing increasingly expensive, and people often forget how much beauty is within 100 miles from where they live. We spent the last two years exploring Ireland with a campervan and along the way, had the best time ever. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day. Aiva

  35. These are great ideas, I have like two journals and one notebook and pen I use for writing thoughts and ideas down or day to day things and or ideas and possible blog posts as well in those. I also use the notes on my phone as well for ideas and thoughts when I am working or on the go and can’t get to my notebook.
    Thank you for these ideas, I’ll have to use these ideas to come up some more ideas that could work and get the writing flow going.

A journal is a great way to write what you did, but it’s also so much more than that – it’s a place to break out and get creative. If you are on a budget, strapped for time, or just can’t travel as much as you’d like to, exploring your city really is the most valuable thing you can do to find content for your travel blog!
